What made you decide to record an album this year?
Harrogate Theatre Choir reached its 10 year anniversary in 2020 and we wanted to celebrate this milestone with an album of songs that have become firm favourites with our audiences over the last decade. We also wanted to raise some money for our chosen charity MIND in Harrogate District and half the proceeds from the sale of our CD/Download will be donated to them. Charities have been badly hit in 2020 and we hope our contribution will go some way to providing this very worthwhile charity with some extra funding.
Did lockdown affect your recording plans?
We recorded “BINGE” over a weekend in mid March, about a week before the country went into total lockdown, so we were incredibly lucky that we didn’t have to postpone our plans. Because we haven’t been able to hold any face to face rehearsals since completing the recording, the album feels very special indeed as it reflects such a major achievement for us this year. We are very proud of it.
What tracks have you included on the CD?
Feast on some of our very favourite classics from the West End to Broadway, with a few surprises in between. The tracks chosen for the album represent a typical HTC concert performance, ie a mix of the full choir, small ensemble numbers, as well as a few solos. When will the CD be available?
Our album is available now! Sadly we were unable to have the birthday party and album launch we had planned, but we still had a very enjoyable “socially distanced” launch in October 2020.

Yes, the album is available as an MP3 Download which can be purchased through Amazon Music or iTunes.

You can buy the CD directly from us. Place your order online via our secure website page. Payment can be made by Paypal (or with a debit/credit card if you don’t have a Paypal account). Or you can opt to pay by Direct Bank Transfer. Of course, when we are able to perform again, you’ll be able to purchase ‘BINGE’ at any of our concerts!

The CD format is priced at £10.00 (plus £1.75 P&P if you want it posted out to you). The MP3 download format is £7.99. Don’t forget that half the proceeds from the sale of ‘BINGE’ will go to MIND in Harrogate District.
