Harrogate Theatre Choir was delighted to make a return visit recently to one of their favourite venues, Masham Town Hall.  This particular concert was just one of many stops on the Choir’s HTC15 anniversary tour, which has seen them performing and delighting audiences in a number of towns and villages throughout the Yorkshire region.

The concert drew a large and enthusiastic audience, and the warm and sultry afternoon was reminiscent of Buenos Aires, especially so during the Evita medley! This special event also served another purpose, which was to raise funds for the Mashamshire Community Office.

The concert’s repertoire was a delightful mix of show stopping songs from West End shows.  As well as the passionate songs from Evita, the audience was treated to a powerful and emotional medley from Les Misérables.  Other highlights included ‘I Know Him So Well’ and ‘Anthem’ from Chess, along with songs from more contemporary shows like Moulin Rouge and Dear Evan Hansen.

“We were absolutely thrilled to perform for such a wonderful audience, said Andrew Forsyth, Chairman of the Choir. “Despite the sweltering heat, their generosity and enthusiasm made the day truly memorable. Our 15th anniversary year has included raising funds for local charities that are meaningful to their communities, and we were delighted to donate £250 to the Mashamshire Community Office, a cornerstone of the community for over 20 years.”

The choir was also incredibly grateful to HECK Foods for their generous sponsorship of this event, offered from their Community Fund.

As the Choir approaches the grand finale of their tour, with exciting performances scheduled to take place in Wetherby and Harrogate before the end of 2025, they remain dedicated to sharing their love of musical theatre for many more anniversaries to come!
