“I have always loved singing and, growing up, I was part of a musical theatre group in the North East and was fortunate enough to be in some fantastic shows. Then once I moved to University, started my career and had a family, the cliche story is true… life happened…. I’d stopped singing and performing, and one day I realised how much I missed it. It had been around 15 years since I had sung in front of anyone, so joining Harrogate Theatre Choir felt so daunting at first. 

And I am so glad I did… everyone immediately made me feel so welcome. Catherine, our Musical Director is brilliant and I am so grateful for how she has helped me to find my confidence again. I love HTC because the repertoire is so varied and a lot of fun to sing, but Catherine also pushes us and supports us to develop our technique, so we learn a lot as well. We get to sing in some fabulous venues and I love seeing how everyone works together to put on a great show. Everyone is so talented and when you hear the blend of everyone’s voices across the harmonies, it is beautiful.”
