♫ It WAS The Most Wonderful Time of the Year! ♫

Harrogate Theatre Choir was very busy during the festive period.

We kicked off our concert season in late November at Starbeck Methodist Church and what a wonderful welcome we received.   The audience was so enthusiastic, they sang along, cheered after every song and, it’s fair to say that we all had the most enjoyable evening.

Our next outing was an appearance at the Knaresborough Christmas Tree Festival.    Every year, local families, schools, businesses, clubs and societies  get creative and decorate their own tree for this colourful festival.   We very much enjoyed singing a selection of our festive favourites to  visitors who wandered amongst the sparkle and glitter of the wonderfully  decorated trees.

In early December, we were welcomed back to Harrogate Theatre.  Our “Sing on the Stairs” has become a regular event in the Theatre calendar,  welcoming the audience with a collection of our favourite songs as they arrived for the opening night of this season’s Panto “Snow White”.   We certainly enjoyed ourselves, and the audience seemed to enjoy it too!

One of our favourite events of the year is an invitation to sing at the ‘Music and Lights’ event at Fountains Abbey, where we perform in the wonderful atmospheric setting of The Cellarium, aglow with bright and colourful lights.  As always it was a magical afternoon which left us all feeling very festive.

Our festive season drew to a close with our own Christmas Celebration Concert.   This year we were joined by Trombone Choir, A Normal Set of Sackbuts, who accompanied us on all our Christmas carols, as well as performing their own wonderful sets.  We thoroughly enjoyed singing a wide range of songs from Les Miserables to The Greatest Showman, sprinkled with a few festive favourites.  Again, we had a wonderful audience who sang their hearts out!

If you didn’t catch any of our Christmas performances this year, then here is a little taste of what you missed……
